I bring you a new book, maybe it’s a bit antigue, it belongs to one of the sagas that I like the most. This is Turned Skyward Eyes of Flight & Glory # 2 saga by author Rebecca Yarros.
The book introduces us to Paisley Donovan, a twenty-years-old girl who suffers from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a disease that already took unexpectedly her older sister,Peyton at the age of 21 and that consequently caused that all the direct relatives (mom , dad, boyfriend, best friend) will treat her as she was going to die at any time.
She thought that since she and her sister were identical, she will also die at the same age. For this reason she is determined to finish her wish list no matter what the consequences are or what her family thinks .
She just wants a normal life and that’s exactly what Jagger gives her when she meets him on a beach in Florida. He begins to fulfill her wish list.
Jagger is enrolled in the best flight school in the country and the only thing he is looking for is to be the best in the class, to be the first on the List by Order of Merit so he can choose to fly an Apache helicopter. He was dreaming about that since he was just a child. He is handsome, reckless and perfect for a woman who seeks to live life to the fullest.
Paisley and Jagger saved each other without realizing it; they create a close friendship from the beginning; Although it is clear the physical attraction they feel for each other, they can only be friends, Jagger does not want distractions and Paisley has a boyfriend whom she loves very much and also she does not have much time before dying.
Jagger helps Paisley to fulfill many of the points on her list. He doesn’t know very well the situacion Paisley didn’t tell him about her illness because she didn’t want anybody else to treat her as a sick person and Jagger is the only one who makes her feel alive and normal again.
It is a book for those who like a good typical romantic story beeing a perfect combination of comedy, drama and romance. It’s a book that certainly knows the end from the beginning, perhaps the best saga, I liked this book more than the first one because I liked Jagger’s way of being the typical ‘cool guy’, handsome, that does not believe in relationships.
I loved this book, you can read it without the need to also read the first one.
That’s why I encourage you to read it, if, like me , you like romantics books.
